Skerik, the enduringly saxophonic, punk jazz iconoclast, is back on tour with his latest project Bandalabra. Joining him are three of his fellow Seattle hometown's most revered players: Andy Coe on electric guitar, Evan Flory-Barnes on upright bass and D'vonne Lewis on drums. In Skerik's words, Bandalabra is intended to conjure the sounds of "Fela Kuti meeting Steve Reich in rock's backyard."
The Andy Coe Band will be paying tribute to the tunes of Jerry Garcia and The Grateful Dead every Monday throughout the spring of 2013 at the Blue Moon. Andy is joined by some of Seattle's finest jam musicians - Gary Palmer on keys, Chris Jones on bass, Scott Goodwin on drums, and Bob Rees on percussion - as they take you on a mystical journey into song and sound.
McTuff will be continuing their long standing run at the Seamonster every Tuesday for 2013. Come see the 3-headed organ grinding beast of Joe Doria on keyboards, Andy Coe on guitar, and Tarik Abouzied on drums as they create powerful jaw-dropping deep funk and jazz grooves to soothe the soul of even the most sophisticated musical palettes. As always, you can expect many special guests sitting in throughout the year.
